Yellow Stripe-BASIC

The yellow stripe is the BASIC MOVEMENT stripe and is awarded when the student has successfully met the required Nine Movement technique, which is a series of nine movements involving blocking and punching techniques for his/her belt level. There are 5 different Movement Techniques in all.

Blue Stripe-KICKING

Kicking The blue stripe is the KICKING stripe and is awarded when the student has successfully mastered the kicking technique for his/her belt level

Green Stripe-Self -defence & One step sparring.

defence & one step sparring stripe and is awarded when the student has successfully mastered the one-step sparring technique for his/her belt. Usually this consists of two newly learned defense techniques which are added onto the ones that have already been mastered. There are 19 One-Step Sparring Technique in all.

Red stripe-Poom Se

The red stripe is POOMSE stripe and is awarded when the student has successfully mastered his/her Poomse orForm for their belt level. Poomse is a choreographed series of blocks, kicks and punches. There are 8 Poomse in all.


Black Stripe-Attitude & behavior Chart

The black  stripe is the ATTITUDE stripe and is awarded when the student turns in his/her weekly discipline chart with at least 70% completion of all required tasks


when the student has received all other 5 stripes and the Master recommends the student for testing.

Stripes & Awards

To be allowed to advance to the next belt level, each student must complete a series of required techniques with fluent mastery. Once the required technique is met, a belt stripe will be given by the Master or Instructor. Each student must acquire six stripes before being allowed to test. The explanation of the stripes follows.
